Abstract:

The global concern of pollution by synthetic packaging is increasing day by day, so it has led the researchers to develop Biodegradable packaging which helps to minimize the pollution concern, as it cannot be said that is the complete replacement but it has partially helped a lot. Edible films and coatings from various different bio-polymers have created a great hue in the global markets as they are economical and safe for consumption. Many synthetic polymer and plastic wraps are been replaced by edible films and coatings. This review gives the short discussion detail of the biopolymers from which edible films and coatings can be developed.
